What We Do

We are a professional Ice Team Build Company.

Passion for Ice is our Ice Sculpture / Vodka Luge company and website.  This Site however is the other side to our business; it is all about using the tactile, creative and artistic (or not) side of Ice to bring colleagues, strangers and people together for a few hours to do something amazing and transforming – mentally and physically.

The Format
Many Ice Team Build Events do deviate and develop their own style and are not the same.  However, if we start off with a basic plan or format, we can discuss how to mould it to what you want it to be and to achieve.

On the Day

Arrival
We will arrive (depending on the size of the group) approximately 1-2 hours before the start.

Floor covering
We will first place a protective covering on the floor.  Depending on how enthusiastic the carvers are during the session will determine how much flaked ice will get shaved onto the floor. The protective covering can certainly help keep things dry and safe.

We have staff that will continually sweep and clear up any ice that is on the floor.

The Ice Blocks
We will place one ice block (approximately 30cm x 50cm x 25cm – and weighing around 6-stone) into each drain tray.  The amount of ice blocks will be determined by you.  We suggest 3 or 4 people to a carving team.

Tools and gear
Each table will have a set of Gloves, chisels, safety goggles, Level and apron (if required).  Enough for each person carving. Extras will be available.

The Briefing
We or yourselves can then brief the carvers – what is expected of them, the time period they have to carve, ideas of what to carve (if applicable) and so on and so forth.

The H&S Brief
We will then conduct a Health and Safety briefing – showing how to use, for example a chisel, how to achieve certain shapes plus any specific safety information for that room, building, environment or group.

The Planning
Some Event organizers like the carvers to plan or draw-out their design before they start – show their thinking process and get each team member involved. This is entirely up to you if you wish the carvers to do this.  We will provide all the materials should you wish this to take place.

…and they’re off
As the carvers carve their masterpieces, we will float from table to table giving help and advice and showing various professional ice carving techniques and tips (if required!)

We will continually clear the floor of any ice that happens to fall to the floor due to exuberance and over-enthusiasm!

“You have 5 minutes left, 5 minutes…”
If applicable, we can time-keep the session indicating elapsed time or how much time is left.

At the allotted time, the carvers would have finished (or not) their carving.  This is where we can discuss with you (prior to the event) the next aspect of the Team Build. Some clients like an informal, general critique with everyone giving an opinion – the best, most creative, most recognizable and so on sculpture.  Some clients would like ‘Management’ (in the widest sense of the meaning) to then take-over and ‘do the assessment’. Or, some clients like us to continue the jovial and great atmosphere and in a light-hearted way award prizes and accolades.

How the wrapping up of the session is conducted is totally up to you.

The packing-up
In reverse; we will dispose of the ice sculptures (unless you would like to keep them or even take them home…) clear all materials away, remove the covering from the floor and generally, restore the room to how we found it several hours ago.

The above plan or format works well.  However, we can tweak it to suit your environment or how you wish the Team Build Event to run.
